Browsers always show a picker so you can choose which screen, window, or tab to capture — that is your capture area. True freehand crop boxes are not available on the open web for security reasons.
Mobile: Works best in Chrome on Android and Safari 17+ on iOS. If the buttons do nothing inside WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook, open this page in your main browser (Chrome/Safari) instead — in-app browsers often block screen capture.
About this tool
Screen Capture is a quick, WhatsApp-style way to grab a still of your screen or record a short video — then share it or save it. Tap Snapshot or Record; pick the screen, window, or tab you want; and you are done. Optional microphone and system audio, plus a save-location picker on supported browsers. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share.
